The annual coffee festival was up Brick Lane, in the Old Truman Brewery.
My and my family (mum, dad, brother and his girlfriend) went to the festival, I'm not a huge fan of coffee but I was told there will be tea and food too. So I couldn't resist!
Before we even thought about going to the festival, it was breakfast time. Pre booked and ready to go, we all went to Dishoom, for a Bombay Breakfast, something I must admit I hadn't even heard of before.

With a selection of fine tea and different breakfasts we ordered away and waited for our exotic meal to arrive. Me and my dad both ordered the Full Bombay, which was Abundant Akuri, char-striped back bacon fresh off the flames, Cumberland sausage, Fire Toast and tomatoes grilled on the vine. This was really different to the full english we're all very acquainted with, but quite the remarkable breakfast meal (definitely worth a try). My tea was also delicious, a pot of English Breakfast Assam. If you do love a cup of tea, this is a must try, goes very well with the breakfast too!
My brother had a Bacon Naan roll, Sophie had a Sausage Naan roll and my mum had Akuri.

After breakfast we headed over to the Coffee Festival. I unfortunately didn't get any photos inside, but due to my family being big coffee drinkers they told me how the coffee was. Apparently it was pretty damn good! So, inside the festival! You have loads of different stalls giving out free samples of different coffees, coffee cocktails and tea too. My brother must have taken every free sample he got, then again so did I (but only the tea!). They had a food section as well so you didn't get hungry whilst walking around. We left with four boxes of different teas, a few of coffee and some bags of popcorn!
If you love coffee (or tea) head on over to this festival next year, you wont regret it!
After leaving, we had a walk round Brick Lane, stopping off in Rough Trade, and taking some photos in their famous photo booth. Me, my brother and Sophie (his girlfriend) piled into this photo booth, got a bit confused, then started posing. We really are an attractive bunch!
After we finished posing badly for some very beautiful photographs, we headed over to the Shoreditch Box Park. I thought the Box Park is a really good idea, my brother had looked it up before we went to London and scouted out a restaurant to go to for some dinner. He had chosen Bukowskis, who make pretty damn good burgers.
Final stop of the day before making the tiresome journey back home was Milk Tea and Pearl, also part of the box park. Inside they sold a range of bubble teas, you could get a range of different flavoured teas and you then chose which bubbles you would like in the tea. The bubbles were little round sacks of flavoured juice, looked like little coloured pearls. As you drink the tea you suck up the bubbles too and chew them so they pop open. A very strange drink but worth a try at least once!
