Monty's Deli

I love Reuben sandwiches, so much. And one of my favourites is from Monty's Deli, so on an early(ish) Saturday morning I headed up with my family to Monty's and ordered one of their amazing huge sandwiches.

I got my usual Reuben Special with a Dr Browns Black Cherry soda (which are the bomb, by the way, if you like Dr Pepper and Cherry Coke drinks).

I love the lights they have put up! So cute I want ones like this for my bed room.

The next stop was St Johns Bakery where we picked up a few doughnuts. I can't personally tell you how good they were as I'm not a fan of doughnuts, but my family enjoyed them very much.
After, we had a short stroll down Rope Walk Market and then headed to Borough Market. Whilst my parents and brother looked at veg and fish, me and Sophie headed over to a watermelon stand and picked up a slice each.
Look how juicy that slice looks!

We thoroughly enjoyed the watermelon and got it allll over our hands.
After our watermelon, me and Sophie headed off to Oxford Street to go to Topshop and the rest of my family headed home.

So trust me on this one! GO TO MONTY'S DELI.
I'd give this place a 10/10, amazing price and amazing size sandwich.

Ceviche

A few weeks ago I went to a restaurant called Ceviche with my mum, dad, brother and his girlfriend Sophie. It was a family meal out for my mothers birthday. Me and Sophie headed up together and were actually the first two there. Usually we are the late ones! We sat down at the table and ordered some cocktails from the menu as we waited for the others. The cocktails are very tasty here unfortunately I didn't get any pictures! I must also apologise right now for the poor quality pictures, it is rather dark in there and if you're so caught up in the menu and ready to eat and forget to change the settings (silly me, always thinking about the food). If this sounds like something you would do, remember to get your settings right!
Anyways, on with the food! Unfortunately, they have changed the menu and I didn't write down all the names of the meals, so a little improv and brief details are going to be the way forward!

Salmon and avocado on a potato... thing!
Sliced scallops
I believe this is the Sakura Maru!
Don Ceviche - Seabass with bits and pieces
Ensalada de Quinoa - quinoa salad basically, but damn tasty!
The dish below and above, was Chorizo and Squid

Beef heart - Corazon Mio on the menu
Duck with rice.... (sorry guys I know its not helpful!)
Lomo Saltado - Beef fillet with tomatos and onions with real chips!

Mousse do Chocolate - Chocolate mousse with salt and mango pieces on top.
(Amazing dessert)

That is all we had, we shared these between five of us and it was ample!
I certainly want to go again as I have now found out that the menu has changed so there is more to try!
But definitely worth a visit, and so sorry I couldn't explain the dishes more!
Serves me right leaving it for so many weeks!

Restaurant Story

With a whopping total of 22 course and a picture of every one, apart from one. So 21 photos of just the meal, this could take a while. I must say this now, I can't remember the details of everything as there were so many courses and I forgot to take a notepad!

First thing to arrive on our tables was crispy cod skin, smoked cod roe emulsion, carrot tops and botanicals.

Radishes filled with kelp butter and Malden salt.
Flowers with something incredibly tasty in them!
Storeos (the biscuit was squid ink)
Then this lovely candle was popped on the table and after reading a review on The Londoners blog I knew what it was.
Razor clams with champagne snow
Pork blood with apple (black pudding with Apple and Apple jelly... Stuff on top)
Rabbit sandwich
Then our amazing waiter came back and asked if we would like the six course or ten course menu. All ten for us please!
So on to our table came a whole loaf of bread cut into six and a huge pot of relish. And what did we do with this bread, dipped it in the candle of course! No, we are not crazy and we do not often dip our bread in candles, but this candle was actually the dripping! Beef dripping to be precise and it tasted amazing, I've never had more fun the eating bread with a beef dripping candle!

Next, Onion, apple and old tom
Scallops, cucumber and dill ash (one of my favourites)
Heritage potato, asparagus and coal (another one of my favourites)
Crab, smoked leek, rapeseed, pear and lovage
Raw beef, apple and Perigold truffle (joint first place with the fois gras, later on)
Wild stems, squid and pine honey
Lamb, grilled salad and sheeps yoghurt (another favourite)
Foie gras, pear and sorrel, this came first place and was my favourite (joint with the raw beef)
Palette cleanser, of rapeseed ice cream and I do believe the rest was rapeseed too!
Hay, prune and cereal (with milk added at the table)
Almond and dill
Rhubarb and custard layered drinks
Tea cakes
This meal was truly amazing and I don't think I've ever been to a place with better service. Our waiter, Matteo, was the best waiter I've ever had. He was so lovely and treated us well for the whole 4 hours we spent there! He was truly amazing.
In total there were 22 courses, I forgot to take a picture of the cheeseboard, because I wolfed that down so quickly you couldn't even have blinked in the time, let alone take a picture. If you didn't know already, I love cheese!

Do not forget to take a book, write a note inside and leave it there!
